Chris DugganChris is an athlete turned Yoga teacher. Through playing many sports competitively, he acquired injuries. In 2005 he began taking Yoga classes to help heal his body, and knew he had found his calling. After taking many courses with Eoin Finn, he took Eoin's 1st teacher training and began teaching Power Yoga. He has created quite a following at Yoga for the People, Kitsilano Workout, and Studio 505. His positive attitude, humor and passion for healing is infectious. His classes welcome all levels...including beginners. Chris reminds his students: "I have never done anything that has rewarded me as much as my Yoga practice. The training is so isometric, that the body becomes stronger and leaner at a rapid pace. It is such an honour to watch students stand taller and feel better about themselves...namaste" www.chrisduggan.net |

Chantal RussellHaving always been mindful of health and wellness, I discovered yoga in 2001 and instantly fell in love. I began traveling the world to study the art of yoga, and was lead to many beautiful places including India, Australia, and Costa Rica. In these places, I had the exquisite blessing of living, teaching and assisting in many yoga & surf retreats. My heart is filled with love and gratitude to my many teachers, including John Friend, Sianna Sherman, Shiva Rea, Eion Finn, David Swenson, and my beloved husband Gary, who teaches me daily of unconditional love. Being an Anusara-inspired teacher, my style weaves sensitivity, creativity and inspiration with biomechanical principles and attention to alignment. It is my wish that yoga helps us open to the freedom and love within, and to live with a heart open to infinite possibilities! |

Reno MuenzReno Muenz is a dynamic, inspirational yoga teacher who brings his energy, humour and philosophy to every one of his yoga classes. Since the first time he opened the pages of Bhagavan Das’ It’s Here Now Are You?, he knew there was something radical about the practice of yoga. His love for music has a major influence on his teaching style and adds to the uplifting message he brings to his classes. As a DJ for much of his life, he brings this connection to sound and intertwines it with his knowledge of yoga as a physical as well as devotional practice. In university he majored in Religious Studies with a focus on Buddhist and Hindu traditions and brings his knowledge and faith in both to his practice and to his classes. “Yoga has completely changed the way I interact with life on this planet. It is my prayer, my exercise, my diet, the way I interact with others, it is everything. It has made me stronger and more compassionate. It has filled my heart with loving kindness and reminded me of the Oneness of All.” Reno offers a challenging vinyasa practice with all the juicy bits of bhakti and spiritual practice. His love for the planet and all living things are a major part of his offering as an instructor. “To see all Living Beings as Divine, that is my one True Goal as a Yogi, that to me is Liberation.” |

Suzanne Slocum-GoriI feel blessed to be able to share the gift of yoga. I feel this practice cultivates conscious living in all aspects of our life so that we may lead with an open heart. It has been over a decade of me hitting the mat and examining yoga traditions throughout North America and India, including Anusara, Iyengar, Ashtanga and Pranic Flow. I'm a certified Yoga Works instructor and completing requirements for Anusara-Inspired. I'm honored to have apprenticed under Annie Carpenter in Los Angeles and to continue my studies with John Friend. I'm also grateful for my training spent with Chris Chavez, Sean Corne, Anodea Judith, Shivea Rea, Lisa Walford, John Doyle and Max Strom. My classes emphasize physical and energetic alignment, deep-dynamic-flow, gratitude for the Divine and opening of the heart in order to lead students on a journey of play, self-discovery and expansion. |

Meghan CurrieHandstands, motorcycles, smells, bicycles, ancient cheese, friends and wine, music languages, books, trees, beets, mud, dancing, diagrams, sewing, teaching, surprises. Shaking, anatomy, making music, sleeping outside, wisdom, nonsense, sprouts, spoons. Seeds, cats, fears, rocks, essential oils, feet, photos, insects, skateboards, the ocean. Laughing, crying, naps, sewing machine parts, singing, stillness, wrinkles. Spinach, all creatures, learning, apples, and of course ... making love. When I teach I let go as much as possible so I may be an open channel for creative energy to pass through. Every student is everyone's teacher so I plug my heart into everyone and do my best to translate the teachings which present themselves in the moment. I believe it's not all up to me. Like any recipe, there must be just the right amount of ingredients to produce epic flavor. When I teach I mix my given ingredients well with all the other given ingredients, the students, weather, energy in the room, music, and the ever playful and unpredictable universe to co-create an experience. I never know what is going to happen. And if I try to always know, something is lost. I love life in raw true form. I am where I am in life because of my fears, so I encourage all sides of people to be honored as fears, if faced, are like really good manure for the soul. I love to challenge and push people beyond their limiting beliefs. I think what students love about my classes is that they are super challenging but fun and light. Not too serious, we always laugh. I'm so grateful to all my teachers, especially Chris Chavez, Steve Merkley, and Paige Faraci. |

Valerie GilesI teach yoga not only because I love it but also because I have witnessed its ability to transform and rehabilitate in myself and in others. I am passionate about the anusara style of the yoga which combines the principles of alignment with a celebration of the heart. I draw from experiences as a fitness instructor for over 15 years; an avid cyclist and competitive triathlete. As well, I am fortunate and so grateful to have the most amazing teachers in Chris Chavez, John Friend, Christine Price Clark, Sjanie McInnis, Robin Galt, to name but a few. I have a particular passion for therapeutic and restorative yoga and it is my wish that every time a student comes to class they leave feeling physically and mentally better and with a quality of heart eager to embrace the dance of life. |

Carolyn BudgellThis strange journey of breath, movement and laughter found me in 1999 as a ski bum in Whistler. I initially sought a greater balance for snowboarding, skateboarding and trail running. And I am constantly humbled by the shifts and changes of this practice as I crawl closer and closer to home. I love to feel and hear breath. I love travelling to Seattle, Paris, New York, California and Mexico to learn from dear teachers in the traditions of Anusara, Forrest and Jivamukti yoga. I love listening to soulful melodies. In my class you may: sweat, play, flow, balance, cry, laugh, transform and have a good breathe. My intention as a guide is to offer little insights towards breath and love. The rest is up to you to experiment what exists in us all - "I am not this body, its sensations and feelings.I am not this mind, its thoughts and desires. I am not intuition or insight.I am not this sense of self. I am Spirit, the Absolute." How do I work to feel this bliss? How does one connect to truth, true nature? Its actually quite simple. In the words of BKS Iyengar, "Finding grace is not a back breaking business.... Practice practice practice and all is coming." Come home..... |
